The Rug Doctor Deep Carpet Cleaner is a large and powerful piece of machinery. It is able to clean both large areas and smaller areas alike. A ‘Hand Tool’ is included which is easily attached to the main body of the cleaner, this is ideal for stairs, car interiors and upholstery. This isn’t the smallest carpet cleaner, and it is not easy to store, so is best suited to those with lots of space.
GHI Expert Verdict
We saw impressive results on our carpet cleaning tests when using the Deep Carpet Cleaner. After a few passes, almost all of the stains had been removed, requiring only a little more cleaning from this Rug Doctor model. The cleaner also restored and lifted the carpet pile, making it look refreshed. We did find the Deep Carpet Cleaner a little difficult to manoeuvre because it is so large; rather than pushing forward as you would when vacuuming, this model calls for the user to go forward applying the cleaning solution then pull backwards over the stain.
We saw average results on our hard floor cleaning test. While the cleaning solution was applied evenly, the floor wasn’t completely clean when we had passed over it a few times. The Deep Carpet Cleaner scored full marks on our upholstery cleaning test thanks to the Hand Tool attachment. The upholstery was left completely clean and almost dry. It’s a good option for carpets and upholstery.
